Julie Herd, M.Ed., RLLS
Founder, CEO, Reading Intervention Specialist
Julie Herd is a credentialed Reading and Literacy Specialist and a homeschooling mom. She has a Master's degree in Literacy and Reading Education as well as Orton-Gillingham training. Julie is trained in identifying dyslexia and providing effective intervention. She has been working in the field of education for 21+ years. She uses a structured literacy approach, which is effective for all students but essential for those with reading difficulties, including dyslexia. Julie is a former Kindergarten classroom teacher and has held school administrative positions such as Education Coordinator and Home-Based Services Director. Julie has a Child Development Permit at the highest level, Program Director. She also holds a CTE teaching credential in Child Development, with a Reading and Literacy Added Authorization. Julie has also completed the CA Dyslexia Initiative Dyslexia & Dysgraphia training.
Julie founded Reading Reach to widen the availability of structured literacy reading intervention services to striving readers, including those with dyslexia. Julie also wanted to provide alternative educational opportunities for homeschoolers by creating the homeschool pod.
Reading Reach is proud to be north county's literacy leader! We provide evidence-based and/or research-based literacy instruction by highly qualified instructors.

Matt is a homeschooling dad, a little league baseball coach, and an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor. He has completed the dyslexia module at the UC/CSU California Collaborative for Neurodiversity and Learning as well as the CA Dyslexia Initiative Dyslexia & Dysgraphia training.
Lea Martinez, M.Ed.

Lea is a structured literacy trained teacher with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. She has completed the CA Dyslexia Initiative Dyslexia & Dysgraphia training.
